Event date: 1st December 2013
Sophie Uccelli is raising money for Off The Record (Twickenham)
I am due to compete in the Grim Challenge on the 1st December 2013. It consists of 8.2miles of mud, water, obstacles and probably other stuff to make me wonder why I have agreed to pay money to do such a challenge!!!
I am doing it to try and raise some money for a local charity called Off the Record. They are a free youth counselling service who Michael has volunteered for over the past 3 years. I have watched him give his time every week to the charity and the young people that they support and I know how much it has meant to him to do this. So I decided I wanted to do something to. So here I am less than a month away from the Grim reality of this challenge.
Off the Record, is a free counselling service for young people (aged 11 to 24), the young people are not asked for any money, and neither are the counsellors who all volunteer. As funding is so desperately tight, the charity relies mainly on donations, and they are in desperate need of funds at the moment. So I realise it is before Christmas, and purse strings might be tight, but instead of sending me a Christmas card ? donate the £1 instead!
I mean it when I say I am only after small change, £1 or £2 would be absolutely fantastic!
We have chosen 'Everyclick' as a fundraising page, as even if you decide not donate directly, you can still donate by going through 'Give As You Live', where you can do your normal internet shopping, but a percentage from the retailer will be contributed to the charity.
Many many thanks, Sophie x
