SPONSOR A PINT - 2 charities, 1 city, 𝟷̶𝟷̶𝟿̶ 156 pubs, 365 days

In 2026, I’m taking on a concrete challenge here in Milton Keynes (the least concrete of all cities) - drinking a pint in each of the city’s 𝟷̶𝟷̶𝟿̶ 156 pubs!

To be clear from the start, this isn’t about drinking to excess. Everyone should just responsibly. What this is about is community, conversation, and supporting the places that keep our wonderful city connected.

At every pub I visit, I’ll be asking fellow punters to donate the cost of a pint to two charities that mean a great deal to me: Willen Hospice and Camphill Milton Keynes.

Why This Challenge?

I was born and bred in Milton Keynes. I founded Imperial Pint whilst living in Taiwan, am a CAMRA member and long-time supporter of local pubs; someone who genuinely believes that responsible, social drinking plays a positive role in community life and helps bring people together.

Our pubs are meeting places. They’re where stories are shared, friendships are made, local heritage is preserved and culture thrives. By bringing people together in these spaces, I hope to raise both funds and awareness for causes that do extraordinary work right here in our city.

I’ll be drinking responsibly, pacing myself over the year, and celebrating the diversity and character of Milton Keynes’ pubs along the way.

Why These Two Charities?

Willen Hospice

I previously worked for Willen Hospice and saw first-hand the compassion, dignity, and care they provide to individuals and families at the most difficult times in life. Their work touches thousands across Milton Keynes every year, and they rely heavily on community support to continue doing so.

Camphill Milton Keynes

I currently volunteer with Camphill MK, a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities to live meaningful, creative, and fulfilling lives. Their approach is deeply human and community-led, and I’m proud to support the fundraising work they do every single day.

How You Can Help

Back in October 2023, MKFM reported that the average price of a pint in Milton Keynes was £5.23. Adjusted for inflation, that puts the cost of a pint in MK today at around £5.70.

If just five people in each pub I visit donated the price of a pint, together we would raise over £̶𝟹̶,̶𝟹̶𝟶̶𝟶̶ £4,400 for these two brilliant local charities!

Where I'll Be Visiting

Being a data geek as well as a pub advocate, I've identifed all 119 pubs in Milton Keynes as those labelled as a "Pub/bar/nightclub" under the Food Hygiene Ratings Scheme (FHRS) Data, as provided by the Food Standards Agency. If it's on the list, I'm aiming to visit!

Edit: After visiting the first pub it quickly became clear the FSA data is wrong - many pubs are listed as restaurants, cafes, even takeaways! After filtering through the list I believe the total to be 156 pubs! and these have been added to the below!
