St John Bosco are raising money for Leeds Hospitals Charity and The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation
Stephen Darby was a member of one of my first year 6 classes over 26 years ago. He was a fantastic boy who epitomised everything that is good about St John Bosco. He worked hard, was caring, sporty and nothing was ever too much trouble. A complete joy and he did so well in the one sport that he loved more than any others: football. Moving through the Liverpool academy and eventually captaining Bradford City where he played for over 230 matches and even playing at Wembley Stadium on more than one occasion. He was the St John Bosco captain and wore the number 2 shirt with pride- how fitting that he wore the same number and was captain of the Liverpool youth team as well as the captain of Bradford City. We were devastated to hear that Stephen had been diagnosed with the cruel disease MND. He still remains that amazingly positive individual carrying the values that he displayed throughout his 7 years at St John Bosco. We are proud as a school family to fundraise and help Stephen and his foundation search for a cure and give further hope for others who are struck by this particularly cruel disease. Help if you can; pray if you can't.
