Standing Together for Clackmannanshire

This fundraiser has been created in response to the increasing financial pressure facing households across Clackmannanshire.
In 2025/26, residents experienced a 13% council tax rise.
For 2026/27, there is a further 5.6% increase, alongside a 6% rent rise for council tenants.
At the same time:

• The Council Leader’s salary increased from £35,580 to £50,063 in April 2025.
• In November 2025, Chief Executive Nikki Bridle received a £32,000 pay rise, bringing her salary to around £165,000.

Local petitions were raised by residents — including one calling for the £32,000 rise to be reconsidered, and another asking for no further council tax increase this year. These concerns were not adopted.

An open letter was also sent to Keith Brown asking him to support a council tax freeze.
Regardless of political views, one thing is clear:

Many families in Clackmannanshire are struggling.
Around one in four children locally are estimated to be living in poverty, and the area remains among the most income-deprived parts of Scotland. When household costs rise faster than incomes, more people are pushed towards crisis.

This page was set up because when financial pressure increases, demand on food banks increases too.

The Gate Food Bank provides emergency food and essential support to local individuals and families facing hardship.

This is not about party politics.

It is about community support.

If people feel unheard, we can still stand together and help each other.

Every donation — no matter the size — will go towards supporting local families who need it most.
