My story
I am running in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon on Sunday, 14 May. This is in aid of St Gemma's and St Leonard's hospices, and Leeds Hospitals Charity.
Any donations to the above three charities are much appreciated, and Aviva will match donations up to a total of £250.
Leeds Hospitals Charity, along with supporting other charities and research projects, is funding a state-of-the-art MND Care Centre, to give people with MND and their families the best possible care and support. By donating to this appeal, you can help create The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease, which will see all MND services housed under one roof for the first time.
St Gemma’s Hospice is an independent charity and has been providing expert care to the people of Leeds for 45 years. It provides the best possible care and support for local people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, to help people live as well as possible, for as long as possible. It is one of the leading hospices in the UK.
St Leonard's Hospice has been providing care and support for the York region for 35 years, the idea of which was first suggested by four RCN members. Its mission is to provide the highest standard of care and support to those living with life-limiting illnesses, and their relatives, and to contribute to the ongoing development of end of life care. Both hospices depend on fundraising, legacies and donations to continue.
