Stephanie Kirkman Meikle is raising money for Harrogate Skills 4 Living Centre
Help raise funds for a terrific cause: people with learning disabilities. David Russell, a rotary member and Junction Trustee ran the London Marathon in 5 hrs 30 in April to raise funds for The Junction, also known as Harrogate Skills 4 Living Centre. It's a wonderful place where some of the most vulnerable and sometimes isolated people come together to learn, to socialise and to take part in our community life. The Centre is based in Harrogate and supports people from all over the country who have come to live in residential care or in the community nearby. Lifelong friendships are formed here and people receive the respectful support of qualified tutors to do anything from pottery to playing instruments, from studying history to working as a volunteer in the community. Your donation will help to keep the charity going or help to purchase specialist equipment to help a person communicate, who may have no ability to speak, or it may provide tuition for a person with an autism spectrum disorder, to be able to take part in group activities. You cab still plege money to support us. Please give generously: it's a marathon journey and a marathon effort needed to enrich lives at the Junction.
David has run several times in the Great North Run and is very pleased with his time in the London Marathon. David has gathered £900 plus gift aid through sponsorship forms so far and is looking for his next challenge!
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Harrogate Skills 4 Living Centre.
