Good luck Paul
Event date: 26th May 2012
Madeleine Cassidy is raising money for Support 4 Sight
A half marathon Charity Walk in and around the villages of Saffron Walden, raising money for Support 4 Sight's services for blind and partially sighted people.
Paul Atkins, Resource Centre Manager of Support 4 Sight, the local sight loss charity in West Essex, will undertake a half marathon walk in May 2012. And why is this so special? Because Paul will be walking 13.1 miles over rough terrain and because of his sight loss, he will not be able to see the ground beneath his feet.
Can you imagine walking blindfolded over hills and fields and being unable to see exactly where you are going? This is what it is like for Paul. So not only is it a feat of fitness, it is also a personal challenge, illustrating that visually impaired people can achieve as much as their sighted friends.
So why is Paul doing this? Because Paul is passionate about highlighting the importance of good services for visually impaired people, in order for them to lead independent lives and cope with their sight loss.
Please support him by donating online today.
With your help, Support 4 Sight can help a greater number of visually impaired people cope with their sight loss each year.
