My story
My first baby (who’s now 10) was born 34 weeks prematurely. Being my first baby and my expectations of this based on a Pampers advert, I found the experience a frightening and unknown time. The organisation Snug were present in the Exeter NICU and gave me support beyond any expectations I had. Their support continued for years following our departure, helping me deal with residual trauma. I want to repay them for that and to help them support other families also.
Although I am a Personal Trainer I have always had a love HATE relationship with running. But I have come to a turning point in my life that has spurred me on to take on something that will challenge me.
For me this is much more than a run, it symbolises coming out the other side from a trauma I’ve carried for a long time.
