ActionAid Nepal Community Housing Project

I've always wanted to get involved in building something, and I've always wanted to make a difference to people's lives. This Nepal building project is, for me, about using my skills in a part of the world where building a modest house will transform the lives of generations of people.

For the Kamaiya, a proper home to live in, brings security that means they can improve their lives, they can produce food to sell at market, away from home - and send their children to school. By keeping warm and dry their health improves and with it their ability to build their own future. This project is about bringing dignity and respect to a people, so they can make the most of their lives now they are no longer slaves.

I'm paying my own costs for the trip - any money raised will go to ActionAid, to fund this building project, and the wider objectives of the charity.
