Hi everyone, I’m Caroline and I work in the Communications Team at TfGM.
I wanted to share some exciting news and a personal challenge I’ve set for myself. At the end of May, I’ll be lacing up my trainers to run the Great Manchester 10km, raising funds for TfGM’s corporate charities. As a mum of two in my 40s, staying active is definitely part of my life, although I’ll be the first to admit that long-distance running isn’t exactly my forte! In fact, the last time I attempted a 10k was about 17 years ago (!)
Despite this, with just four weeks to train—and one of those weeks coinciding with my holiday—I’ve decided to embrace the challenge. My motivation comes from wanting to support two incredible causes: The Christie Charity and Hollinwood Scout Camp, both of which make a real difference in our community.
Earlier this year, after having surgery, I struggled to even walk to the top of my street. So, while this run won’t be breaking any personal records, simply crossing the finish line will feel like a huge achievement for me. I’m hoping to raise as much as possible for these worthwhile charities, and any donations, big or small, would mean a great deal.
If you’re able to donate, please remember to include “CAROLINE” in your comments so the fundraising team can keep track. Your support and encouragement truly mean the world to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for every contribution.
