Thames River Kayak Challenge 09/22

On Wednesday, September 28th, starting in Greenwich a group of supporters will kayak 20km in pairs to Battersea, tacking the Thames along the way!

The group will be raising money for The Change Foundation’s Change the Game not the Girl campaign which tackles the barriers that marginalised women and girls face in sport. At a time when women’s sport is reaching new heights, this campaign is needed now more than ever.

The Change Foundation is an award-winning charity that uses sport to change the lives of marginalised young people. They deliver targeted long-term interventions for the most vulnerable young people through Coach Mentors with lived experience, providing regular sport, personalised mentoring and work-related opportunities.

Deliver - They deliver targeted sport for social change programmes for the most vulnerable young people through Coach Mentors with lived experience.

Innovate - They design programmes with young people, using creative methodologies and testing ideas by delivering 6?12-month pilot programmes.

Inspire - They work with other charities, employers and corporate organisations and create bespoke solutions to extend the power and reach of our programmes for maximum social impact.

Guided by young people, their listening process has directed them to deliver sports programmes that focus on these social issues affecting young people today:

• Knife crime and serious youth violence

• Social media influence and addiction

• Youth unemployment for vulnerable young people

• Disability inclusion and creating equal opportunities

• Mental health issues and developing coping mechanisms

We exist to help young people find solutions to deal with these social issues through the power of sport.
