The 2.6 Challenge for Warwickshire Young Carers Project

Event dates: 26th April 2020 – 26th May 2020

Kathrin Foster is raising money for Warwickshire Young Carers

My story

The 2.6 challenge begins on Sunday 26th April and should have been the 40th London Marathon. This event raises huge funds for many charities. Charities are facing a shortfall of £4 billion. Smaller charities in particular will struggle to recover. I have previously fundraiser for Warwickshire Young Carers by Nordic walking 26miles on the Purbeck coast. I won’t be Nordic Walking 26miles this times because government guidelines on so out distancing and lockdown prevent me from doing this.
Instead I will walk 26 miles from the 26th April to 26th May. On the 26th April I will walk 2.6 miles, go up and down the stairs 26 times, jump 26 times on the kid’s trampoline and bounce 26 times on my daughter’s space hopper.
We are know that the Care Sector has been neglected for many years. Young Carers are mostly hidden in our society, they look after siblings, parents or grandparents who can’t do hat the old would usually do due to illness, disability, mental health or substance misuse. Young Carers are at risk of social isolation and bullying, underachievement, absenteeism from school and poor physical and mental health. Warwickshire Young Carers help to improve the lives of You g Carers across Warwickshire by offering free and confidential support.
Please give a little or generously to support.
