The 54321 walk from Peterborough United FC to Stockport County FC

All about the 54321 walk.

5 men, and Alison our van driver, are aiming to raise £6,000+ for 3 different charities, by walking a distance of around 113 miles from Peterborough United FC to Stockport County FC over the Easter weekend.

We will leave Peterborough after the match on Good Friday April 18th and arrive in time for kick off against Huddersfield Town at Edgeley Park on Easter Monday, 21st April. The final total of money raised will be split equally between the three charities.

The charities are,

Pure Insight.

Pure Insight is a specialist, award-winning charity that supports Care Leavers to thrive. Each year thousands of young people leave foster care or children’s homes, many affected by childhood trauma, neglect, and abuse. Pure Insight supports care leavers aged 16- 28 across the North West helping them to make a successful transition to adulthood.

Mentell

Mentell is a charity that was formed in Stockport 7 years ago in a scout hut in Hazel Grove, after a man posted on social media that he would be holding a space for men to attend if they wanted to. Three other men arrived and the charity began.
The circles are safe spaces for men over the age of 18 to talk about whatever it is that troubling them. They are under no pressure to talk though and some men come just to listen, finding support in hearing someone talk about a situation that is similar to their own.

Stockport County Community Trust

Kits by County Campaign:
In a bid to encourage children to become more active and engage in PE, Stockport County and Community Trust has launched a new initiative to help provide PE kits to pupils in Stockport’s primary schools. The aim of the 12-month campaign is to raise enough funds to supply 12,500 PE Kits to primary school children in September 2025
