Event dates: 1st May 2023 – 31st May 2023
Adrian Line is raising money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, The Prince of Wales Hospice, Alzheimer's Society and Wakefield Hospice
The Align Property Charity Challenge 2023 - Part 1!!
Lands End to John O’Groats Charity Bike Ride – 874 miles (1,407km)
Align Property Limited are a property report company based in the Wakefield District with offices in both Wakefield and Pontefract. We supply reports and searches to aid with the sale, purchase and rental of both residential and commercial property. As part of our Charity Challenge for 2023, our Managing Director, Adrian Line is aiming to cycle 1,407km by exercise bike throughout the month of May 2023, this being the equivalent by road from Lands End to John O’Groats. He will also try to hold down his usual day job, as long as he is still able to walk.
This is part of our way of giving back to the local community and causes close to our hearts, as we will be doing this in aid of the following four charities, who we will split the monies raised with equally.
• Yorkshire Air Ambulance - Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a lifesaving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across the whole of Yorkshire. To keep both of their air ambulance helicopters maintained and in the air, they need to raise £19,000 every single day. The generosity that they receive really is the lifeblood of their Charity.
• Wakefield Hospice - Wakefield Hospice are committed to providing the highest level of symptom management and care for people who have advanced active, progressive and life threatening illness. The annual running costs of Wakefield Hospice are now between £3.9 million and £4.2 million. The Hospice belongs to the people of Wakefield and they rely on them to keep it going.
• Prince of Wales Hospice - The Prince of Wales Hospice provides specialist care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families in the Five Towns area of Wakefield District. All of their care is free of charge, but it is not free to provide. They are a registered charity and need to raise over £3m a year to continue to support their patients and their families. They receive funding from the NHS, for around 25% of their costs. The rest comes from the generosity of local people and income from their charity shops.
• Alzheimer’s Society - Dementia is a complex condition, and there’s no one-size fits all solution. Flexible support services and a multi-faceted approach is key to improving lives. Expert advice and guidance, support through their most challenging days, and a safe space to turn when they need them – this is what the Alzheimer’s Society deliver to the people who need it.
We appreciate times are hard at the moment but please give as much as you can to these worthy causes as every penny counts for them.
Adrian’s first ride will be on Monday 1st May and daily updates of his virtual progress will be given on our FB (Align Property), Twitter (@alignproperty) & LinkedIn (Align Property) pages throughout the month.
Thank you very much for any support you can give, it means a lot to us and the four charities.
