Our story

Hello from Helen, Mary, Jane, Romla and Emma. Give us a wave if you see us about :) or cheer us on if you see us bobbing about in the sea 🌊
We are a group of ladies from the Dorset area who have signed up to swim the English Channel in 2024 against the odds, we have all overcome or are going to overcome some huge health concerns and we will fight on. Mental health, paragliding accidents with airlifting rescue, cancer, and sepsis amongst other things and we still smile, we are survivors so join us for our journey and share the smiles in the moments - even if it’s just me with my hands stuck under my swim cap or one of us wandering off our swim line and heading off out to sea, let us keep you smiling too! We aim to do many exciting swim challenges along the way and have lots of training in various places around our coast. We will be seeking business sponsors in exchange for advertising to cover some of the expenses and also personal sponsors to raise money for some very worthy causes close to our hearts. This is an epic challenge, please follow our journey and help support us along the way :)

The 5 awesome charities we aim to support

The Blunt Truth - in Charley Bates memory, ran by Avon and Somerset Police and Great Western Air Ambulance. Educating young people about knife crime and how to administer stab first aid to save a victim.

RNLI - Weymouth to help support our local guys and gals who do the tremendous work they do

Axminster and Lyme Cancer support who have been an amazing support to locals, providing a valuable service when it’s needed most.

Mosaic - a charity in Dorset who support children that are bereaved. A truly exceptional charity who do such amazing work, helping young lives find their balance again.

James place - an amazing charity supporting people at risk of suicide and providing them with a safe space
