The Lap for SNUG

47 miles around Lake Windermere for SNUG 💙

In May 2027, I’ll be taking on a pretty big challenge — running The Lap, a 47-mile ultra-marathon around Lake Windermere, to raise money for SNUG.
In January 2026, our twin girls were born prematurely at 34+6 weeks and spent the first few weeks of their lives in neonatal care. It was a daunting and emotional start, and SNUG were there to support us through those early weeks.

Their support didn’t stop when we left hospital. We’ve continued to benefit from SNUG through their local groups, giving us the chance to meet other families, share experiences and have somewhere to turn as our girls have grown.

SNUG is a small charity with a big heart, supporting families who’ve had a difficult pregnancy, birth or time in neonatal care. They’re there for parents right from the hospital days — offering a friendly face, a listening ear and support from people who truly understand what it’s like. Through their online SNUGBUGS group and relaxed community meet-ups, they help families stay connected, share their experiences and feel less alone.

Having experienced first-hand just how much that support can mean to a family, I wanted to do something to give back.

So, in May, I’ll be taking on 47 miles around one of England’s most beautiful lakes! 🏃‍♀️🏔️

It’s going to be a huge challenge, but knowing that every mile is helping raise money for a charity that supported our family makes it even more worthwhile.
