The Mission: Fitness Possible

Ian Nattrass is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and WWF-UK

My story

Hi.
Alistair Mills, Neetu Gurung, Nicole Thake, Rebecca Lavery, Sophie Elbourn and myself (collectively The Mission: Fitness Possible) are fundraising for WWF and Macmillan.
Between Monday 12 June and Sunday 9 July our team will be undertaking the challenge of walking an average of 10,000 steps a day! Collectively this is equivalent to walking 1,800,000 steps over four weeks.
This year ISS are aiming to beat our 2022 total of £12,500 and raise £20,000 for our charity partners, with all donations to be split 50/50 between WWF and Macmillan.
To enhance the fundraising efforts in 2023, ISS will match fund the pedometer challenge with up to £5,000. This means every £ donated will go that little bit further to support the important work of WWF and Macmillan.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Macmillan Cancer Support and WWF-UK.

My updates

We've now completed our challenge and the whole team excelled themselves in week 4. As a team we managed to complete 533,304 steps, an increase of more than 40,000 on the week before!
Over the course of the whole challenge we completed 1,923,915 steps.

We are now in to our final week of the challenge. The team has been getting better and better as the weeks go by:
In week 1 we completed 439,595 steps.
In week 2 we raised this total to 459,296 steps.
Last week (week 3) we managed 491,720 steps!
At the three quarter mark we had completed 1,390,611 in total and the goal this week will be to do half a million steps in one week.
Great to see we have exceeded our fundraising target, but the more the merrier on that front.

Hi. We've made it through week 1 with some mixed results. The good news is that we have hit our initial fundraising target of £60. We're now aiming for a stretch target.
In terms of the steps themselves we had a few challenges. One team member nearly fainted from illness in midweek and another was enthusiastic enough to get a few extra steps in by walking down the aisle!
Hopefully we'll be able to show a few pics soon ... of the wedding not the illness.
