My story

Yellow doors is a local charity to my uni, they provide support to people who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual assault and rape. Their work has been invaluable for some of my closest friends and I will always be indebted to them for providing the necessary help beyond what I could provide.
I have decided that I will complete a number of challenges throughout 2024 with the aim to raise a total of £1000.
We cannot necessarily save the world but we can all do our part make our corner of it a little brighter!
Everybody deserves to get home safe and to have a home which they feel safe in!
Through the dark, the mud, numerous miles and whatever other challenge comes my way. We can all help make a difference and together, we are making a difference 💛🕯️🌱

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Yellow Door.

Today we showed what it is to be strong, courageous, resilient and to be kind. I am not strong for a woman, I am a strong woman.

stronger together! Post Southampton half marathon!

Today was huge, today was the Southampton half marathon, in which yellow doors had supported getting me entry for!
This is the biggest race I’ve ever done, after last weeks struggles I was pretty anxious as to how it would go.
I am so incredibly lucky to be part of one of the most supportive running clubs ever, I ran with Anja another club member it was both of our first road half marathons! It really shows how much stronger we are when we are together, this run felt incredible, i felt strong and I felt empowered by the support around me!
Some more big things are on the horizon but for now its a big slice of cake! 🤩

EASTER: It is all about rising again!
After hardship and tough times it can be challenging to get back up and carry on. Easter seemed like a great time to try and get a sub 50min 10k, I’ve never done a 10k race and it was my first on my own too!
The course was undulating hills for the first half on a trail type course followed by flooded river side flats. I don’t think I’ve felt a struggle like that in such a long time I wanted to give up I questioned why I was even doing this and then I remembered all the incredible people who have supported me and this fantastic charity!
I completed the race in 55mins7s, my tank was empty and I really gave it everything I had, I will be back again chasing down the sub 50 🫡

Next the half marathon was cancelled due to a flooded course… I was gutted and didn’t want to let everyone who sponsored me down :( the whole point of this journey is to show people what it is to be strong and to be resilient!
So I went for a 5k pb instead and smashed it!!! I knocked 26s off my old time with a 23.34 🤩🤩
