This will be my sixth ride for the Inspired Living charity set up in advance of the inaugural ride from Winchester to Gibraltar in 2010. I have since taken part in all the subsequent rides, 2012 to Venice, 2014 to Monte Carlo, 2016 to Rome and lastly 2019 to Barcelona.

Inspired Living is committed to raising money for Cancer Research UK and thus far has raised 370k. The riders all fund their own costs ensuring that all monies raised go directly to CRUK.

I have many personal reasons for being part of this fabulous charity as, over the years, I have lost family members and friends to this cruel disease. However, my wife Heather is still my main inspiration. Heather was first diagnosed in 1997 resulting in a lumpectomy and radiotherapy but in 1999 the cancer returned and Heather had to have a mastectomy. In 2015 Heather was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer which is being managed with regular medication including twice annual check up scans.
