Tim's Half Marathon for Teen Challenge

On 28th September 2014 I will be running the Ealing Half Marathon.

I have decided to raise funds for Teen Challenge for the positive, and often overlooked role they play in rehabilitating addicts and other substance abusers. After all, how many of us just write off these people before thinking that they need help, particularly for those who recognize they have a problem.

A case in point is that of my brother-in-law, Scott Gillingham. In his earlyteens through his late twenties he had developed an addiction to heroin. Despite these habits lasting for years, he had the wherewithal to determine that he had to get off the drugs. Through the Teen Challenge 18 Month Residential Program he was weaned off the them and re-educated in coping mechanisms.

He has now been clean for more than a decade and has turned his life around. He now councils those in the same way he was.
