Our story
Travers Smith's Law and Dis-oar-der
We are taking part in Brick Court Chambers annual Dragon Boat Race 2026 racing to raise money for 4 fantastic charities.
About Travers Smith:
Our own corporate social committee programme covers a diverse range of areas and touches the lives of many thousands of people from all over the country and beyond. We engage with diverse audiences and communities, which in turn helps encourage all our people to be individual, and to recognize their position, not only within the business world, but also within wider society.
We are committed to using our legal capabilities to address environmental risk and promote sustainability, to defend the vulnerable and promote a positive and inclusive global society where opportunities are available to all, and the rule of law is respected.
The firm’s pro bono practice provides individuals, community groups, charities and social enterprises the opportunity to access to high-quality legal advice from our talented lawyers across the firm, that would otherwise be unobtainable.
Our pro bono programme is underpinned by four focus areas in which we target the most impactful partnerships:
- Climate, environment and sustainability
- Diversity, inclusion and social mobility
- Vulnerable groups
- Rule of Law
We are therefore delighted to support Brick Court in their charitable endeavours, which align with our own values...and to participate in the sporting event of the season (here's to going one better in the race and to retaining our best fancy dress award!).
About Brick Court Chambers:
Brick Court Chambers, one of the UK’s leading barristers’ chambers, is proud to support four charities dedicated to education, social mobility, and access to justice: The Sutton Trust and IntoUniversity, which provide mentoring, work experience, and educational support to disadvantaged young people; Advocate, which connects pro bono barristers with those who cannot afford legal help; and The Access to Justice Foundation, which funds free legal advice and representation for those in need. Through fundraising, volunteering, and direct engagement, Brick Court helps open doors to opportunity, support young people in their careers, and ensure that everyone can access the legal help they need, regardless of background or means.
