My story
I am once again taking part in the Southend Triathlon, hoping to raise funds for Remus Horse Sanctuary who provide lifetime help and care for horses, ponies, donkeys, goats, sheep and cats, that are victims of physical and mental abuse, be it as a result of ignorance or malicious intent.
I have volunteered at Remus for 12 years and you might have seen me in my hi-viz on Open Days. Any support you can give would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much xx

20th June - Triathlon is tomorrow and it's going to be hot! I've registered at the Wetsuit Outlet in Shoeburyness this morning, received my luminous pink swimming hat and race numbers, so ready to go! The triathlon is 1 week today! Training has been going well and will taper off this week. Will give Parkrun a miss on Saturday as don't want to risk a silly injury the day before raceday, and will go and register/check-in at the Wetsuit Outlet instead to save time on Sunday morning. 7th June 2026 - Triathlon is 2 weeks today! A tyre puncture and getting drenched twice last week whilst running is all part of the training, apparently! The sea tides are more favourable this week, so will be getting in the wetsuit a few times. Hopefully the running and cycling training will be less eventful this week!
