Trinity College Chapel Choir Hymnathon

On 28th JUNE, the Trinity College Chapel Choir will embark on a tour to Estonia and Latvia.

We begin in Riga, where we’ll be singing one Choral Evensong and performing a concert, before travelling on to Tallinn. There, over four days, we’ll give two further concerts and perform at the Arvo Pärt Centre just outside the city. We’re also excited to be collaborating with the Tallinn-based HUIK mixed choir on a joint project and concert. This tour offers a fantastic opportunity to engage with the rich choral traditions of the Baltics, while showcasing the progress the choir has made in recent years. However, funding this year’s tour has been particularly challenging due to unexpected shortfalls in the JCR budget, alongside significant growth in the choir.

To help make the tour possible, we’re hosting a sponsored Hymnathon on Saturday 9th May. From 12pm to 8pm, the choir will sing continuously in the chapel: eight hours for the eight Choral Evensongs this term, featuring favourites from the Book of Common Praise.

The event will be live-streamed (youtube.com/live/khtABxq2v6U?feature=share) and donations collected via this fundraising page (any additional money raised will be put towards the general running costs of the choir).

Members of the college community, past and present, are warmly invited to join us from 5-6pm for 'Christmas Hour', and the final 30 minutes will feature Trinity classics and much-loved hymns.
