UoN Ramsoc are raising money for Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team
We are the University of Nottingham Rambling and Hiking club. We are running our annual Dark Peak Marathon (DPM) in the peak district which is either a 24 mile or 37 mile treck completed in one day, pushing our members beyond their comfort zones. This year's DPM will be a sponsored event, raising vital funds for the Duddon and Furness mountain rescue team and their permanent base. Other mountain rescue teams based in the Lake District have assisted in the training of our club's walk leaders so this is our way of giving back. We feel that if the money we raise goes towards the Duddon and Furness team it could go a long way to helping with the construction of a permanent base that is fit for purpose.
Thank you for checking out our page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team.

Three of our competitors completed our 37 mile route, an incredible feat.
Including Joe who completed the route in an outstanding 12 hours 10 minutes.
Fred and Harrison both completed the route within 14 hours.
A big congratulations to the three of you.

Yesterday all 15 of our competitors managed to complete the 24 mile route.
The sun was out and spirits were high throughout the day, despite the sore feet.
everyone finished within 12 hours of setting off at 6am, with lots of breaks throughout the day.
Everyone should be very proud of themselves!
