Can't stay indifferent to the Ukrainian children's suffering and the joy they may get from this fundraising.
Jean-François & Yvette are raising money for Cry in the Dark
Dear friends,
For over two decades now, Cry in the Dark (a small UK-based NGO) has been operating in Romania to provide the most compassionate and effective support to children suffering from malnutrition and neglect. Most of them affected by crippling illnesses or disabilities.
Since the summer of 2022, Cry in the Dark has also been running summer holiday camps for children affected by the War in Ukraine 🇺🇦. These children are nominated by a local church and a local organisation working with families affected by war. Some have either lost a family member, or their family member is a prisoner of war. Others have been displaced or moved around Ukraine since the start of the war.
The children are not required to pay anything for their holiday; it is a gift to them. They have the opportunity to play and be happy like regular children, away from the horror of the war for a week…
We were blessed to serve as volunteers for a couple of weeks in Bacǎu Romania (3 hours' drive from the border with Ukraine) and we witnessed first-hand the admirable and selfless work done by the Cry in the Dark team.
This work MUST continue and your support is required. The cost of running these summer camps is about AU$10,000 (14 children and two accompanying Ukrainian adults, each week). This will be the target of our appeal to fund next year’s effort.
Please be generous as I know you can be and spread the word about this meaningful cause around you.
With love,
Jean-François & Yvette
