Run, Veeee, RUNNNNNNNNNNN!!!

Running With Survivors (Or, my Sweet Thirtieth)

Event date: 17th April 2016

Vanessa Deroo is raising money for Survivors' Network

My story

18/04/16 : Thanks everyone!

So, here we are! In 2016, I turn 30...and I run a 10k!

I wanted something different for my birthday. Turning 30 sounds crazy ("grown-up crazy") and since there's no way I can convince Billy Corgan to do a private gig to celebrate the thing, and a 10k at the end of January is not an option, I thought running and raising money for Survivors' Network during the 2016 Brighton Marathon Weekend would be equally awesome, memorable and worthwhile.
Survivors' Network are based in Brighton and support survivors of sexual violence and abuse. As most of you know, this hits home. And now, more than ever, I feel like it's time to give it back.

On Sunday 17th April 2016, I will run for them and celebrate reaching my thirties, three months after my actual birthday. INFINITE PARTY TIME.

So, practicalities: Instead of buying me a cookbook (you know I love them), please drop a few pounds and help Survivors' Network to continue their work.

What The Charity could do with £200:

  • providing tea coffee and biscuits for 40 drop-in sessions, where survivors find strength and support from each other

  • paying for 8 specialist counselling sessions

  • running 2 workshops for young people, educating them about healthy relationships.

Let's do this.
Oh and if you want to say hi at the finish line, you're more than welcome to do so. Tears will be shed. It'll be great.

See you in April!
