Dominic Richardson, James Trevis is raising money for Sifa Fireside
My story
On Sunday September 24 2017 in the heart of Birmingham, 15,000 cyclists will line up to start their unforgettable 100 mile route on completely closed roads, taking them through the picturesque Worcestershire and Herefordshire countryside before returning to Birmingham.
In partnership with the Colmore Business District, James Trevis and Dominic Richardson from Aon will take on the challenge, raising money for Sifa Fireside - a local charity that offers a helping hand to homeless people in our city.
SIFA Fireside works seven days a week with some of the most vulnerable adults in our society: those experiencing homelessness or who are vulnerably-housed. Many of the people they work with have complex mental and physical health problems, some have addictions, and all are socially excluded. They run a daily drop-in service where they provide on average 3,404 meals, over 100 people given clothes and 429 showers each month for their clients.
Drop-in sessions are the frontline service of SIFA Fireside?s operations, acting as a gateway for their clients to access other longer-term support services such as crisis support, welfare rights advice, money and debt advice, housing advice, tenancy support, health and wellbeing clinics, employment and training, and help to reduce offending.
