Seedcorn Appeal

How many times would you like your donation to multiply itself? 10 times? 20 times? Here's how you can make it happen.

The Durham Palestine Educational Trust will soon be making a big appeal, hoping to increase its regular donations by 5,000 pounds this year, next year and probably for many years to come. It has done it before. The last major appeal, in 2005, produced an extra 6,000 pounds a year in monthly donations, and over 90% of these Standing Orders are still in operation.

But the current brochure is 3 years old and out-of-date. Printing and mailing 2,500 brochures will cost 1,000 pounds. Why is it necessary to spend this amount? It's called "seed corn investment". It sows the seeds for a higher and more stable income for the Durham Palestine Educational Trust. Please help me to raise that 1,000 pounds for the Trust. A donation equivalent to the cost of 1 or 2 glasses of wine would be very acceptable!

The Trust has no corporate sponsors and relies entirely on individual donors. That is why these simple brochures are very important. The Trust also tries to raise its admin. expenses (like this) separately so that it can honestly tell donors that every penny of their donations goes to scholarships for Palestinians. I will give 1 pound for every 10 pounds given by other donors.
