My story
As many of you know, cricket is a large part of our family life! Having spent many years volunteering behind the scenes at our local club in Beaconsfield, the time has now come to expand my cricket volunteering experience and what better way to do this than supporting this fantastic charity.
At the end of September, I will be travelling with a team of volunteers from Cricket Without Boundaries to spend 2 weeks in Rwanda visiting a number of schools and sports venues, helping the charity to deliver it’s program.
Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to empowering local communities to growing the game of cricket, whilst using the sport as a platform for health education and social change. Working in partnership with local cricket associations, foundations and sports development organisations, the charity ensures that the work creates a structure for sustainability and inclusivity to ensure that the game continues to be available for all.
I’m fundraising to cover CWB’s costs as well as enabling them to purchase cricket equipment that will be used in the local schools. The majority of CWB’s funding is through volunteer fundraising and donations. I’ll be covering my own travel costs and expenses so 100% of the money raised here will go directly to CWB to support their projects and help local people to continue their great work.
