My story
On Saturday 5th September, my husband and I will be walking The Big One lift hill at Pleasure Beach Resort, Blackpool — all 235 feet of it.
We are walking in memory of our much loved Greyhound, Izzy who we sadly said goodbye to recently. She was twelve years and nine months old, a truly beautiful dog and is greatly missed. We are raising funds for Home Run Hounds Greyhound Charity, a volunteer‑led charity that works tirelessly to help retired racing greyhounds find their forever home.
It’s a huge challenge for both of us, and even more so for my husband, who isn’t keen on heights. Taking on this iconic roller coaster on foot is definitely pushing us out of our comfort zones, but we’re doing it for the greyhounds who rely on this amazing charity.
If you’re able to donate, your support would mean so much and will help give these gentle dogs the futures they deserve. Every penny raised goes towards giving the greyhounds the love, care and future they deserve.
