Walter's university fees

Event dates: 18th August 2018 – 31st October 2018

Kath is raising money for THE TUMAINI TRUST

My story

I've known Walter since he was a very bright 10 year old pupil in my Mshiri class in Tanzania in 2007. Walter is now at university in Dodoma studying for a degree in project planning and management. He hopes to progress to his second year in September, but will only be able to do this if The Tumaini Trust can help him by contributing to his fees.

Walter lives with his mother and 3 younger siblings in rural Tanzania. Initially, he had to postpone his university studies as the annual fees were prohibitive. However, he did start last year believing he would be entitled to a government loan. Unfortunately, his application for the loan was unsuccessful, so he was only able to continue studying with assistance from The Tumaini Trust.

His siblings attend primary and secondary school. Walter?s ambition is to become a planning officer. His hope is to be in a position to financially assist his mother and siblings, so that they too can reach their potential. He has demonstrated his commitment by securing some work to help fund his studies but requires a further £850 per year.

So, I've set up a crowd funding page hoping to raise £250 which, together with funds already raised, will secure Walter's place at university for the coming year. If you can make a small contribution, that would be fantastic. If you can?t, but you support the cause, please share the post.

Thank you very much from The Tumaini Trust (reg number 1113901) tumainitrust.org.uk/

Asante sana.
