So you are probably wondering why am I doing a marathon? It is to support my chosen charity, Network 81.

As many of you may know, my son Elliot has autism and other associated difficulties. Network 81 has been there, supporting us for many years now. From when Elliot was first diagnosed, to our protracted but successful tribunal battle with our local authority to get Elliot's needs properly recognised and now helping us to navigate the tricky transition to secondary education.

Through the support of Network 81, Elliot's speech and communication skills have really come on! Running the marathon is my way of thanking the staff at Network 81 in helping parents such as ourselves understand and fight for the legal rights of children like Elliot so that they can get the help that they need.

The work of Network 81 is invaluable and must be allowed to continue.
