My story
After last years Ullswater End to End, which I loved doing, I wanted to challenge myself a "bit" more, and have decided to swim Windermere End to End - 21kms (ish), and probably about 10 hours in the water. Most of my training will be in Semerwater (which is about 1.5km around....) Any challenges I face training or on the day are nothing compared to what is dealt with day in and day out, by the people who need to use these charities.
In 2017 we lost Mum to Motor Neurone Disease - she was an incredible, adventurous, loving person, and we all miss her terribly. It is an awful disease, and, if, by me doing something a bit daft, will help find a cure and support people with MND, then I am ready.
I decided that I also wanted to support War Child - I cannot imagine what it must be like having or being a child in one of the areas of conflict. War Child work in the hardest to reach places to support those who are hardest hit, to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children, when they need us most - £60 could provide support for a whole family caught up in conflict with all their basic needs for two months, including food and blankets
Knowing that people have kindly donated to these two charities will really keep me going when the going gets tough.....and I'm pretty sure it will be very tough!!!
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Motor Neurone Disease Association and War Child.
