Our updates

Yesterday, Wintech proudly took part in the Rotary Club Annual Dragon Boat Challenge at the picturesque Great Lake in Himley, in honour of our dear colleague and friend, Brett Banfill.

With 36 eager teams ready to paddle their way to victory, we're thrilled to announce that Wintech’s Brettalion finished in a commendable 13th place! Not too shabby for our first rodeo!

The competition kicked off with three heats. In the initial heat, our enthusiastic yet strategy-less crew managed a time of 1 minute and 31.4 seconds, placing us second out of three. Not bad for a team just getting their feet—or paddles—wet.

Fuelled by the thrill of competition and perhaps a touch of Alex's motivational whistle-blowing, the Brettalion regrouped and refined their tactics. Their hard work paid off in the second heat, where they shaved off a solid 11 seconds, clocking in at 1 minute and 20.16 seconds, securing a first-place finish in that round. A well-deserved victory!

After a hearty lunch and a few celebratory drinks, the team faced the final heat under the scorching sun. Despite the heat and a bit of post-lunch sluggishness, they delivered a respectable time of 1 minute and 24.98 seconds. The top 12 teams advanced to the final round, the Brettalion narrowly missed the cut by just 0.1 of a second —but there's always next year!

Well done to the Wintech Brettalion for their spirited performance and setting the bar high. Here's to more strategic paddling, quicker times, and a shot at the finals next year!

Thank you so much to everyone who has kindly donated to such amazing causes, we are extremely grateful and know our chosen charities will be too.
