John Evason & Dan King (DFMRT) are raising money for Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team
108 Miles for Mountain Rescue!
On January 10, 2026, John and Dan will set off on an epic Winter Spine Challenger South, running from Edale along the southern half of the Pennine Way and finishing in Hawes.
thespinerace.com/race/montane-winter-spine/montane-winter-spine-mrt-challenge-south/ - We will provide tracking info when it becomes available.
This demanding route covers rugged hills and wild moorland, with unpredictable winter weather and long stretches of darkness adding to the difficulty. Often, the path is snow-covered and temperatures plunge as low as -10°C.
We are taking on this challenge to raise vital funds for Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team (MRT).
Duddon and Furness MRT is a volunteer-run charity that provides life-saving assistance to those in need across the Lake District and beyond. The team is currently building a much-needed permanent base after years of fundraising. Alongside this, the team must continually raise money to cover essential operational costs, from maintaining vehicles and specialist equipment to ensuring volunteers can respond to callouts in all conditions.
Every donation will help ensure the team can continue to be there, day or night, for those who need them most.
🙏 Please support us on this journey. Your contribution will directly help save lives.
