Our story

The annual Winter Walk to Witherley is now in its third year - yes we are still ploughing on!

This is when three ladies of a certain age walk from Atherstone to Witherley, a grand total of 3 miles, to take some gifts and Christmas cheer to rescue dog Big Man Brodie and all his doggy friends at Dun-Roamin' Dog Sanctuary!

.....BUT (and we hope this makes it a little more impressive!) ... we do it pulling a 'Santa Sleigh' (well a pull along garden cart... actual real Santa Sleighs are hard to come by...but it has tinsel and all sorts!)...loaded with presents for Brodie and friends.

Each year we have a theme - we have been pugs and reindeers before and the people of Atherstone have needed the year to recover! This year we are being a little bit demure and we are Angels! No dont laugh - we are because we will have wings and a halo to prove it.... stop laughing!

...and we are giving this little adventure the grand title of 'BRODIE'S ANGEL DELIGHT - PULLING THE SLEIGH WITH ALL OUR MIGHT'.

We know you will be so impressed you will want to donate and if you visit facebook.com/bigmanbrodie/ you may see us gliding gracefully as the Angels we are to the kennels on Sunday 15th December 2024 ... we will be posting photos.

On a serious note all money raised will go directly to Dun-Roamin' Dog Sanctuary to help pay Big Man Brodie's bills at the Sanctuary and help Dun Roamin' keep doing the fantastic work they do saving dogs discarded by society and giving them a life worth living with love and respect.

We have set a target of £450 as this will pay for one month of Brodies kennel bill.  All donations will go direct to Dun-Roamin'.

Brodie is a dog we three helped to save from an uncertain future, managing to get him a place with Ian at Dun-Roamin' where Brodie has blossomed ever since, and we promised Brodie we would look after him forever!
