Hayfield School is raising money for Wirral Foodbank
Schools on Wirral have been kind enough in the last few years to donate some of their Harvest Festival collections to Wirral Foodbank. We were really pleased that they did, because it gave our stocks a very important boost before the start of the winter.
We are writing to you because we hope that this might happen again this year, and that schools might donate to the Foodbank again. So we are sending some information to help understand how the Foodbank works, and who it helps.
People need the help of the Foodbank because unexpected things can happen - sometimes it is just because you suddenly have to pay a very large electricity bill, and afterwards don’t have enough money to buy any food. There are lots of other reasons too.
But now people know they can come to us for help so they won’t be hungry, and they get a
voucher code to take to our distribution centre, where they are given 3 days’ supply of long-life food.
Since we opened 13 years ago, lots of kind people from all over the Wirral have given the
Foodbank enough food to feed 130,000 people in Wirral who have found themselves in difficult situations – including 44,000 hungry children.
If you would like to help, please donate - we really appreciate it. This year we have decided to donate the money to the Wirral Foodbank so they can buy the items they really need.
THANK YOU!
