My story

Follow us on Instagram @Witness_the_fitness2023
After last year's incredible Wainwrights Way 8-day hike, the Witness The Fitness crew are ready for their next walking challenge. The 177 mile (285 Km) Offa’s Dyke Path - from 14 - 21 September 2024, the walk takes you through the borderlands of England and Wales, from the riverside meadows of the Wye and Severn valleys to the peaceful rolling hills of Shropshire and Powys and the dramatic heather clad uplands of the Black Mountains and the Clwydian Range / Dee Valley.

The Path passes through or very near to many historic towns, including Chepstow, Monmouth, Hay-on-Wye, Kington, Presteigne, Knighton, Bishop’s Castle, Montgomery, Welshpool, Oswestry, Llangollen, Mold, Ruthin, Denbigh, and Prestatyn. Along the way you will discover majestic castles, quiet country churches, enigmatic Iron Age hillforts and some very enticing country pubs.

Last year we had so much support from friends and family and are very much hoping for the same this September, we'd love you to join us for one day, two days or perhaps the whole 8 days!

We hope to raise valuable funds for the amazing charity Headway North Staffordshire who give such valuable support to my brother Carl, his wife and two boys since he suffered a traumatic brain injury following contracting meningitis in June 2022.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Headway North Staffordshire.

Wish us luck! We've nearly done it!! 177 miles over 8 days!!

Day 4 is complete & we've passed the halfway milestone! Huge appreciation for all the support so far, we couldn't do it without you all! Day 5 is another toughy from Clun to Kington with the 'switchback' section which is generally reckoned to be the toughest on the Trail as it rises and falls through the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding beauty! We have George and Archie to keep us going tomorrow - bring it on......

Today we are travelling by train to our starting point, Prestatyn, North Wales. Rich Spann, Alastair Fay and I (Witness The Fitness Team) are shortly about to embark on an incredible 8-day hike, 177 mile (285 Km) along the Offa’s Dyke Path covering the borderlands of England and Wales.

The support that Headway North Staffordshire provides for my brother Carl, who faced a life-changing brain injury after contracting meningitis, makes such a huge difference. Headway’s dedication to helping people rebuild their lives following brain injuries is truly invaluable, and your efforts will no doubt contribute to this essential cause.
