We’re in the van, 8th June 2022, Bannerman’s here we come! Around 250 miles into the 300 mile journey Jase receives a phone call from a consultant to say that the X-ray he’d just had revealed that he had a broken back, along with instructions to get straight to hospital if he lost any feeling in his legs or suffered loss of bladder control!!! Jase makes the decision to carry on with the tour, he is ‘TOUGH AS STEEL’ after all! Then, on the last date of the Genius Tour, Jase was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, A type of incurable cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow, causing bone and kidney damage. SHOCKER! Now what?? Jase decides to play the gig! We head to The Craufurd Arms knowing that we’re going to have to tell the band and crew the news. Not the easiest conversation to have during soundcheck! The SOLD OUT gig goes down a storm! Jase plays an extra long heartfelt, emotionally charged solo during ‘SEEN HOW IT’S DONE’ and the crowd leave happy. We celebrate a successful tour and go our separate ways. Everyone goes back to their normal daily lives...

2 weeks later JASE STARTS CANCER TREATMENT.

Jase had a really rough year with Chemotherapy and a Stem Cell Transplant, the longest we’ve ever been apart! Almost 3 weeks with no physical contact, only phone calls. Life is very different for us now. He is now on maintenance Chemo and a bucket load of pain meds!! His mobility is very poor, he still has a broken back (it won’t heal), and he gets tired very quickly. BUT… He LOVES to play guitar…. He LIVES to play guitar! And most of all he LOVES all you HOWLING MAD SH*THEADS!
