WRAC LIONESSES BIRMINGHAM 10k

We are a team of female army veterans fundraising for the Women’s Royal Army Corps Association and Fighting with Pride. We are a disbanded Corps and our non profit making charity supports our female veterans.
We enter a 10k run each year and our team are called the W.R.A.C. LIONESSSES.
The aim of the W.R.A.C.A. is to:

1. Support women who served/are serving in HM forces through comradeship/friendship.
2. Our Benevolent fund offers financial help for those who are in need and have come across hard times.
3. Maintaining traditions.

It is important to remember the women who served/serve, some making the ultimate sacrifice.
The support given is a lifeline for many who live alone and those who are less able.
We still have ladies who served in WW2, many now 100yrs old.

Fighting With Pride supports the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+Veterans, service personnel and their families – in particular those most impacted by the ban on LGBTQ+ personnel serving in the Armed Forces, ultimately lifted on the 12th January 2000.

We are proud of the achievements of our serving LGBTQ+ personnel. They serve in every part of the Armed Forces and are supported at every level of command.
In stark contrast, and despite the passing of over 20 years since the ‘gay ban’ was finally lifted, no attempt has been made to support the recovery of the thousands of LGBTQ+ service personnel dismissed or forced from service prior to 2000.
We want to connect service charities and organisations to those LGBTQ+ veterans who have been left behind.
