Young At Heart Sky Dive

Event date: 24th September 2022

My story

2 and a half years ago we got our membership to the 'heart warrior club'. A club we knew nothing about & never asked to join! My wife was 16 weeks pregnant when we found out our unborn son had congenital heart disease. Since then it's been a roller coaster journey. He has under gone open heart surgery, has regular appointments and is our little soldier

Fast forward to now...
Joining the 'heart warrior' club has opened the door to an amazing family. A family where heart parents, carers, siblings and warriors under the care of Birmingham Children's Cardiology department can unite and support each other.
This family is the charity Young At Heart who, in Lockdown delivered hundreds of Easter Eggs to heart warriors and siblings
Young At Heart arrange and organise groups for mental health. They arrange meet ups so parents, warriors and siblings know they are not alone for example teddy bear picnics, Christmas parties and days out.
They gift certificates and Superhero teddy bears to children with CHD and their siblings.

Our family has felt overwhelmed by Young at Heart's support and know it wouldn't be possible without donations or fundraising
Therefore I have decided to chuck myself out of a plane at 10,000 foot to raise funds for Young At Heart so they can continue to support families fighting CHD
1 in 125 babies are born with heart disease
Please if you can sponsor any amount to help Young at Heart myself, my family and Young At Heart it would be much appreciated

Thank you
