Kate Cashmore is raising money for Little Troopers
Life isn’t always easy for children growing up in the military community and my two boys know this first-hand.
Zac (now 7) has lived in three different homes in three completely different parts of the UK and spent hundreds of nights with Daddy serving away from home. While he has taken all this mostly in his stride, there has also been tears and heartbreak. We consider ourselves the lucky ones as many military children have to cope with far more separation and upheaval than we have experienced.
The truth is, the only thing certain about military life is uncertainty, and as a child, that can be difficult to navigate sometimes and can understandably impact on children’s wellbeing.
That’s why the charity Little Troopers was set up in 2011 - to support ALL children who have a parent serving in the British Armed Forces, whenever they need it and wherever they are in the world. Little Troopers wants all military children to feel as though their unique experiences are recognised and understood, as well as helping them to feel proud of themselves by celebrating their special role in our Armed Forces community.
From resources for families to use at home, through to the Little Troopers at School programme, Therapy Programme, All Together deployment club and more, Little Troopers is doing SO much and making a big difference with very little.
As lots of you know, I’ve worked with this special charity for four years now and when I told Zac I was climbing Snowdon in September he jumped up with excitement at the idea of doing his own fundraising challenge. I know he is going to find this more difficult than he realises. He’s only 7. But I know he can do it and any donation you make will really help cheer him on. However big or small, your support really makes a difference.
Thank you!
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Little Troopers.
