Event dates: 11th May 2020 – 31st May 2020
Steph Curtis is raising money for The PDA Society
Thursday 15th May is PDA Day 2020. I'm sure most people following my page will know already what PDA stands for, but just to be clear, PDA is Pathological Demand Avoidance, the type of autism which our younger daughter has.
PDA Day is a chance to talk about PDA more, to help spread information so that those who don't live with this condition can hopefully understand a little more. If you see any posts at all on social media that day, sharing or even simply liking them can help them reach more people.
The PDA Society is a charity which was a great help to me when I was first starting out on this 'journey' of understanding about PDA. I wanted to take this opportunity to help raise much needed funds for them in some way. Their big conference which had been planned for March this year has had to be postponed until next year, and training which was due to take place has also been postponed. The volunteers are still working hard though, providing vital support for families via their brilliant website and an enquiry line.
So I decided that one way I could maybe help would be to offer my time and experience to readers of this page, in a more personal way than typing allows...
Are you a parent or carer supporting a child with a diagnosis of PDA right now? Have you heard of PDA and wonder if your child is showing traits but don't know where to start? Do you have more questions than answers about PDA? If the answer is yes, I am offering individuals a 30 minute Zoom call (video or audio only) between today and the end of May. Places are limited and all I ask is for a donation of your choice to the PDA society to support other families as well.
To arrange a mutually convenient time for a call, please message me directly via my Facebook page with your availability/preferred times and I will try to fit in with your plans where possible. It would help if you can outline in brief your family and how old your child with PDA (or suspected PDA is). Please bear with me if I don't reply immediately; I'll do my best to respond as soon as I can.
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto The PDA Society.

Thank you so much to everybody who booked a call and donated - I know the PDA Society will be able to help many more families with this great total. It was lovely chatting to you all!
