About us
At The Matt Gallagher Foundation, we support people living with Motor Neurone Disease across the Midlands.
We know how overwhelming an MND diagnosis can be, not just for the person affected but for their whole family. Our aim is to ease some of that pressure, whether through practical help or simply being there when someone needs a bit of support.
We offer:
• Grants to help with the cost of equipment, mobility aids or home adaptations
• Support with day-to-day challenges to help make life a little easier
• Small acts of kindness that bring joy and give families a chance to make special memories
The foundation was started by Matt Gallagher and his family, who saw first-hand the difference that the right support at the right time can make.
With the help of our amazing community, we’re doing everything we can to support those facing MND with care, dignity and compassion.
GOODWOOD 500 CYCLE

Ride for Matt – Goodwood Motor Circuit Charity Cycle
Date: Saturday 21st September 2025
Location: Goodwood Motor Circuit, Chichester, West Sussex
Join us for an unforgettable day of cycling and fundraising at one of the UK’s most iconic locations – the legendary Goodwood Motor Circuit. This unique event will bring together 100 teams of five riders, each taking on 40 laps of the stunning 2.5-mile circuit to raise vital funds for The Matt Gallagher Foundation.
Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just looking for a new challenge, Goodwood offers an experience like no other. This is the only classic race track in the world that remains entirely in its original form, making it an exhilarating and truly memorable ride.
Entry and Fundraising
Each team of 5 is asked to raise a minimum of £1500 (£300 per person) to take part. You can either:
- Pay the £300 entry personally per team member.
- Or set up a fundraising page and raise the amount through sponsorship
Every penny raised will go directly to supporting families affected by Motor Neurone Disease through the work of The Matt Gallagher Foundation.
