My story
I’m going to do 12 Winter WISH dips in the ladies ponds in Hampstead. WISH is an amazing charity who support women’s mental health.
My youngest boy, Oli was critically il in 2022 with strep A and Sepsis which resulted in a left leg amputation. He is a very joyful strong fighter and survived! WISH helped me from the moment I asked and have supported my mental health throughout last year. The work they do for women is vital and important and they are the only mental health charity dedicated to women. Swimming has become a lifeline through the year but I have never swam in the winter outside so what better chilly challenge to finish the year on! It was already 4 degrees in the water this morning on my 1st WISH dip so this is a real test. Please give whatever you can to support this charity.
Another easy way is through GIve As You Live via any online shopping which costs you nothing as it’s the shops who donate money whenever you shop with them - ones like John Lewis and M&S etc.

Dip 12 done!!! Wohoooo! Challenge complete for WISH and target reached. Thank you to everyone who donated and are supporting the important, life changing work they do.
Thanks also to everyone at the ladies ponds and the wonderful lifeguards (including Aga pictured here) who are supportive, kind and teach so much about the mind and the body. The ladies pond is a special sanctuary for women surrounded with much heart. A fitting end just before Valentine's Day.

DIP 11! A lovely duck and a crow welcomed me to the water today. An I noticed even more heart shaped twigs in the gardens - it is a magical, loved space. 1 dip to go!!!
