Abseiling down the Lloyd's building!

As part of Lloyd’s charity week, I will be abseiling down the Lloyd's building on Wednesday 26th June!

My chosen charity is The Stables Family Home Trust which is a charity that helps over 100 clients with learning disabilities live fulfilled and independent lives.  
 
My sister has Downs Syndrome and lives in this supported accommodation with her friends as well as having regular trips back to the family home where we can all connect.  This organisation is close to my heart as has helped enable my sister achieve some levels of independence which allows her to have experiences and develop close bonds with friends as well as developing skills that she is proud of and experiences that are her own and that she can share with her family.  There is no way that Lucy could live totally on her own however this place has been the ultimate halfway solution between home and independence for her and many others.  From my many visits over the years I know it is a safe and fun place for her and the residents that she lives with. 
 
The stables provides care, supported living accommodation, education, and a fun and loving environment for those with disabilities including gardening, art projects, sailing trips, and facilitating events such as music and craft festivals. The establishment needs support to continue the great work that they do and to meet core costs at the Stables and their additional 8 supported living houses across the south.
