Brunel Field Summer Fundraiser

This has been another extraordinary school year. As we enter the final term, with restrictions starting to ease, we are hoping that Brunel Field families are beginning to reconnect with friends and classmates outside of the school queues. We know that some year groups have camping trips, class picnics and other social events planned over the summer term - how lovely it will be to be back together.

Among the many things disrupted by Covid has been the PSA's ability to fundraise for the wonderful extra activities that make Brunel Field such a special place. There are several bids from teachers that we have had to put on hold due to lack of funds, so we are hoping that we can pull together once more to fundraise this term, by making a donation or holding a collection or fundraiser at your class social.

There are three bids from teachers that we would love to be able to fund. Please give generously so that we can fund these additional resources and opportunities for our children.

Help our Reception pupils get digging!

We have bought a new ‘digging pit’ for the Reception outdoor learning area which is helping to develop and enhance the children's fine and gross motor skills. We would like to fill this pit with small stones, trucks and sit-on diggers to transport and move the stones around. This will provide learning opportunities in many areas for the children as well as being great fun!

Provide some new outdoor seating in the main school playground

To provide more seating areas for children to sit and enjoy the outdoor area, school would like to install 3 new picnic benches to replace the log seats that are starting to degrade. We are looking at ways these logs can we repurposed in other areas, either cut up as smaller log seats or as a natural wildlife habitat somewhere on the school site.

Lifeskills for the new Year 6

This annual trip to the Create Centre for a lifeskills workshop has been funded for several years by the PSA. Children will learn all sorts of skills for assessing risk and dealing with difficult situations including how to call 999 in an emergency. Feedback from previous years has been extremely positive and we are really hoping we can give the next Year 6 cohort the opportunity to attend this workshop.
