LEAP (Leah's East African Playgrounds)

Hi there! Thank-you for visiting my page set up to fundraise for this wonderful charity: East African Playgrounds.

In mid-August I shall be flying off to Uganda for 4 weeks with several other volunteers from York St. John University. Whilst in the Jinja region of Uganda, we will be living in a school, spending our week-day mornings building a playground for the children there, and the afternoons running art and sport programmes. We will be staying at the school and shall be sleeping on mattresses and covered with mosquito nets, but on the weekends we live off-site and get to travel around different parts of Uganda and experience once in a life-time opportunities.

EAP are hugely focused on children having the right to play. 'Play' may seem everyday to us, and something we take for granted, but it is essential in children's development. Recreation allows children to develop social skills, gain confidence and build self-esteem. To read more please visit their website at:

I have to raise a minimum of £700 to go by the beginning of July. So, over the next few months I shall do multiple fundraising activities which I shall post pictures of afterwards.
