Mark runs a marathon for a playground in Uganda
Event date: 28th April 2013
Mark Kolodziejczak is raising money for East African Playgrounds
My story
I believe that is the fundamental right of every child to play. So this summer I am going to Uganda for a month to help build a playground at a school, and give the children there the opportunity to enjoy this simple pleasure.
All the volunteers for the project pay for their individual flights, accommodation etc. meaning that ALL money donated goes directly towards the playground. This can be used to pay for local labour, or to buy building materials (£10 buys 7 tires and £100 pays for an entire see saw), and sports/art equipment for the children.
To prove my enthusiasm and passion for bringing a little extra joy into the lives of these well deserving children, I am willing to put my mind and body through the ordeal of the Greater Manchester Marathon (28th April 2013), so please dig deep and help me bring some more smiles to Uganda.
