This page is raising money for The Friends Of Waterton's Wall
Charles Waterton built the wall around his parkland to exclude poachers and the fox. Two hundred years ago the wall was under construction and only now are we seeing buzzards and kites return to the skies over Waterton Park: the world’s first nature reserve. BUT the wall is at risk and so is Charles' legacy!
Lime mortar is composed of lime and an aggregate such as sand, mixed with water. Working with lime mortar is a dying craft. This lime mortar workshop is to train volunteers with the necessary skills to assist in the preservation of Waterton’s wall.
We need funds to continue to work on this piece of history!
